Hublot All Black 10 Years Exhibition reveals the hypnotising power of invisible visibility

With The Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black, The All Black becomes completely transparent.

17th November, 2016, Hong Kong – Hublot is disrupting the natural order again and reinterpreting the “invisible visibility” watchmaking philosophy, which was launched by the brand a decade ago, by introducing the Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black and holding the Hublot All Black 10 Years Exhibition. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hublot’s All Black concept, the brand is holding an exhibition from 17th to 21st November, 2016 in Main Concourse, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City. A launching ceremony had taken place on 17th November, 2016 to mark this special occasion, inviting guests and members of the media to witness the transition of this black torrent over the decade.

In 2006, Hublot surprised the watch-making industry with the Big Bang All Black model, unveiling the ALL BLACK concept and the pioneering philosophy of “Visible Invisibility” also emerged at this time. A black watch with black hands that are almost invisible above its entire dial. All Black Limited Editions became among the top list for collectors and Hublot aficionados. The success of the series also seeming led the aesthetic and fashion of Hublot watches for ten years.

To symbolise the All Black concept, the exhibition are varnished in black with different layers and separations to create a mesmerising sense of deepness and mysteriousness. A semi-circular display hall is erected, in which timepieces from the All Black collection in the last 10 years are exhibited. Among the spirited guests joining the occasion was Mr. Loic Biver, General Manager of Hublot Greater China and world renowned pianist Mr. Lang Lang.

Before the ceremony began, Mr. Biver and Lang Lang exchanged their views. Lang Lang became a brand ambassador of Hublot since 2015. He shared his thoughts: “I really love Hublot’s courage to go beyond itself and its firm belief of being unique; at the same time, I even appreciate Hublot more for its relentless pursuit of art. Time and music seem to be invisible but are in fact visible, just like the ALL BLACK collections inherent to the “Visible Invisibility” philosophy into the concept of a watch. It is a unique cultural essence that allows Hublot to present outstanding artistic charm.” After that, the representative and the talented pianist moved to the semi-circular display hall and drew open the curtains for the Hublot All Black 10 Years Exhibition.

One of the highlights in the exhibition is the BIG BANG UNICO SAPPHIRE ALL BLACK. It makes the first appearance to the public for the first time in Hong Kong. True to the All Black style, it is crafted from blocks of sapphire crystal – sapphire that has been coated with metal. Enhanced by black, this sapphire maintains its transparent properties in a subtle balancing act.

“Hublot invented this unprecedented idea in 2006 by using transparency to foster a new connection between the visible and invisible. It overthrows what we thought we had known, pushes back boundaries and takes on the impossible, illustrating Hublot’s motto ‘there is no future without innovation’. All Black is more than a powerful and emblematic design because until today, it is still a pioneering figure in this monochrome, all black style.” Mr. Loic Biver remarked.

Open to public from November 17th – 21st, visitors are welcome to visit the Hublot All Black 10 Years Exhibtion in the Ocean Terminal Main Concourse, Harbour City
