Congratulations Spain! At a packed Stadium Australia in Sydney, at around lunchtime Swiss time today, Spain and Hublot Friend of the Brand Alexia Putellas became champions of the world! The FIFA Women’s World CupTM final was the showpiece of a magnificent tournament held in Australia and New Zealand across nine cities and 64 fixtures, all running to Hublot time. The Swiss luxury watchmaker served as the tournament’s Official Timekeeper for the third time, clocking every minute of every game, captured by LED boards, the iconic Big Bang-shaped fourth official boards, and the Hublot Big Bang e, the luxury smartwatch devoted to the world’s greatest game. Hublot loves football!

As well as serving as Official Timekeeper at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World CupTM tournaments, Hublot is also the Official Timekeeper to the UEFA European Women’s ChampionshipTM and UEFA Women’s Champions LeagueTM.
During the tournament, all 107 match officials (94 of whom where women) wore a special edition Hublot Big Bang e, a high-powered smartwatch designed, developed and produced with cutting-edge materials and the latest connected technology. It was equipped with a number of exclusive features designed to aid officials during the course of the game, including a yellow-card monitoring function and a display relaying added time. Around the world, football and watch aficionados chose the Hublot Big Bang e Gen3, keeping track of every match with score updates delivered straight to the wrist in real time.

A number of Hublot Ambassadors and Friends of the Brand took part in the tournament, including Norway’s Ada Hegerberg, the first winner of the women’s Ballon d’Or in 2018; Spain’s double Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas; and US star Alex Morgan. Also playing a starring role was elite French referee and Hublot Friend of the Brand Stéphanie Frappart, who officiated the final wearing the Hublot Big Bang e. Previously, Stéphanie became the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup match at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM.
Beyond this summer’s tournament, Hublot is now recognised as the first name in top-level football timekeeping. The Swiss fine watchmaker first entered the sport in 2006 as sponsor to the Swiss national team and has been growing its involvement in it ever since.
